Brașov County
The remains of some Neolithic human settlements with a rich archeological inventory were revealed in the localities around the city of Brasov. A large part of the territory of Brașov overlaps with old forms of territorial organization, called ‘countries‘. In this sense, the oldest distinct administrative unit is Barsa Land, documented in 1211, Terra Borza, and then the Land of Făgăraş or Ţara Oltului, recorded in 1222 by Terra Blachorum.
